Rubrik co-founder Soham Majumdar's new AI data analytics startup, WisdomAI, has received $50 million in Series A funding led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from new investor nVentures (NVIDIA's venture capital arm).

This round comes about six months after the startup announced a $23 million seed round led by Coatue.

WisdomAI provides AI-powered data analytics that can answer business questions from structured, unstructured, and even "dirty" data—that is, data that doesn't contain typos or errors. A business user simply asks questions in natural language, such as, "How many customers are in my pipeline and what's holding them back this quarter?"

But the company is taking a clever approach to addressing the problem of LLM confusion. WisdomAI isn't using LLM to write the answers to the questions. Instead, LLM is used only to write queries—the part that will go to the data warehouse to retrieve data. So, if LLM gets confused, it will simply write an ineffective query instead of fabricating false answers.

WisdomAI has written its own logic, which it calls the "Enterprise Context Layer," which studies customer data to understand it. All of the startup's co-founders worked with Majumdar at the data security company Rubrik, giving them extensive experience with enterprise storage warehouses. (Majumdar left Rubrik in 2023.)

CEO Majumdar says that since its formal launch in late 2024, WisdomAI has grown from two enterprise customers to nearly 40. WisdomAI's customers include companies like Deskop, ConocoPhillips, Cisco, and Patreon.

Majumdar said the new company is also increasing usage among its enterprise customers. Some customers have doubled usage within two months. He said another customer started with 10 seats and expanded to 450, which is almost everyone in the company.

Over the past six months, WisdomAI has also added an agentic feature that alerts users in real-time about significant changes in the conditions they're monitoring.

"I built an agent that monitors our product usage metrics and our ticket information," Majumdar says. He added that it took him about five minutes to create. But, instead of sending him daily or hourly reports on usage and helpdesk tickets, it alerts him "when something interesting happens."

"I think that's the magic of analytics," he said. "It's always been a static report, but we're making it dynamic. We're making it proactive."
