The Channel Islands Lottery has awarded over £427,000 to projects and organisations that support the mental and physical health of Islanders

These grants, ranging from £2,000 to £130,000, were awarded in 2024 to support physical activities and support networks.
 
In Guernsey, a total of £191,000 was distributed through grants and funding from the Social Investment Fund Guernsey (SIF), supported by the Lottery.
 
In Jersey, the Association of Jersey Charities and the Jersey Community Foundation distributed a total of £236,059.
 
John Taylor, Head of the Lottery, said: “Across the Channel Islands, charitable organisations and individuals are working for the betterment of their communities, and we are proud to support them through the Channel Islands Lottery.
 
“By providing funding and grants to projects that improve the mental and physical health of people of all ages, we are ensuring that our local communities thrive and prosper, even during often challenging times.”
 
Some of the projects and organisations that received funding include:
 
St John Guernsey – £130,000 towards management salaries for three years
Guernsey Sports Commission in partnership with Up Climbing – £10,000 to launch a community climbing project to benefit young children and those with special educational needs
Alderney Rugby Football Union Club – £5,000 towards safeguarding, police checks, coaching, travel, insurance and equipment
Jersey Bowling Club – £20,000 to improve facilities and diversify membership
Dementia Jersey – £10,090 to support a weekly art group for people with dementia
