Harry & Meghan Slam ‘Deranged Conspiracy’ Claim
Harry and Meghan hit back at royal author Tom Bower’s explosive biography, calling it “deranged conspiracy and melodrama” amid growing tensions inside the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have accused the author of a new royal biography of engaging in "crazy conspiracy and melodrama."
In excerpts from his upcoming book published in *The Times* on Friday, Tom Bower claims that Queen Camilla told a friend that Meghan had "brainwashed" Prince Harry.
He also writes that Meghan became a "divisive agent" and that the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine, viewed her as a "threat."
A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan stated that Bower has "crossed the line from criticism into obsession."
In a statement issued on Saturday, they said: "This is a man who has publicly stated, 'The monarchy really depends on completely erasing the Sussex family from our lives'—language that speaks for itself.

These excerpts cover topics such as Harry and Meghan's relationship with Prince William and Catherine, as well as their business and philanthropic endeavors—including deals with Netflix and Spotify—since stepping back from royal duties and moving to the United States in 2020.
Bower claims that tensions between the Sussexes and William and Catherine had escalated significantly even before the couple left Britain. According to the author, William and Catherine were "concerned" about Meghan and believed that she "regretted the slim likelihood of Harry ever becoming King—just as she lamented the fact that she herself would never become Queen."

He has also claimed that the Prince fears his brother—the future King—"could strip the Sussex family of all their royal titles and effectively exile them from Britain."
A section of the book dedicated to the Prince's 'Invictus Games' focuses on the media coverage surrounding Harry and Meghan at this sporting event for military veterans—which is referred to therein as the "Meghan Games."
