A widespread snowfall warning remains in effect as the storm continues into Saturday night.

Conditions can vary significantly over short distances, as slight temperature changes will determine the type of precipitation in each area.

From Saturday night into Sunday, with the arrival of winter weather, especially in areas experiencing snow and/or icing, some travel delays or impacts are expected. Where snow falls, sporadic power outages and hazardous travel are possible.

Snow and blizzards continued into Saturday night.

Our storm reached eastern Ontario and southern Quebec during the day on Saturday, spreading a wintry mix across the region.

A prolonged spell of snow is expected to continue in the Ottawa Valley into the evening and taper off overnight.

Up to 10 mm of snow may accumulate in some areas, causing sporadic tree damage and power outages. Roads, stairs, and sidewalks are expected to be icy, so exercise caution. A freezing rain warning has been issued for Metro Montreal, where 5-10 centimeters of snow and freezing rain are expected.

Temperatures will remain uniformly cold throughout the atmosphere as we move north, leading to up to 15 centimeters of snowfall in Trois-Rivières and even more in Mont-Laurier and Val-d'Or.

Planning Ahead

Significant storms are expected in the region next week and weekend. The storm's path is uncertain, and will depend on whether weather conditions remain mild or temperature changes, which could worsen the impact. At this time, light and humid winds are favorable, especially for the southern and western parts of the region. However, a very cold pattern with below-normal temperatures is expected to persist throughout December. An active pattern is also expected to accompany this change during the last week of November.
