Jennifer Runyan, known for her roles in "Ghostbusters" and the CBS sitcom "Charles in Charge," passed away on March 6. She was 65 years old.
 
Runyan's close friend, Erin Murphy, confirmed her death in a Facebook post, writing, "I am deeply saddened to share that my friend Jennifer Runyan Corman passed away after a short battle with cancer. There are some people you know you're friends with before you even meet them. She was a special lady. Jen, I will miss you. My prayers are with your family and sweet children."
 
Runyan made her feature film debut in the 1980 slasher film "To All a Good Night" and had supporting roles in the 1984 comedy "Up the Creek" and "Ghostbusters."

The actress also played the lead role of Gwendolyn Pierce in the first season of the 1984 sitcom "Charles in Charge." In 1988, she played Cindy Brady in the television film "A Very Brady Christmas." Also in 1988, Runyan played the lead role in "The In Crowd" and was in the pilot of "Quantum Leap." She also starred in the comedy film "18 Again!" and had guest roles in "Murder, She Wrote," "A Man Called Sarge," and "Beverly Hills, 90210."
 
Runyan was born on April 1, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, to radio announcer and disc jockey Jim Runyan and actress Jane Roberts.

In 1991, Runyan married Todd Corman, a collegiate basketball coach who also worked in film and television production between sports seasons. The couple has two children: a son named Wyatt and a daughter named Bailey.
 
In 2014, Runyan announced that she had semi-retired from acting and was instead working as a teacher.
 
Her Facebook tribute post read, "She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends." "I know she is watching over us all from above with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace, our Jane."
