Vladimir Putin has unveiled a new nuclear submarine whose missiles are said to be 100 times more powerful than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.
Named after Russian explorer Yerofei Khabarov, the submarine was first seen by the world last Saturday when the Kremlin announced that its missiles had been successfully tested. Satellite images taken on November 2nd show the submarine being laid down at a shipyard in the port of Severodvinsk, located on the White Sea coast in Russia's far north.
The Russian president said: "There is nothing like this vehicle in the world in terms of speed and depth—and it's unlikely there ever will be."
He further stated that there is "no way to stop" a nuclear submarine, and according to the Daily Mail, not only does each missile have "unrivaled advantages," but the submarine's nuclear reactor will only take "minutes or seconds" to start up.
Originally called Project 09851, the contract for the construction of Khabarovsk was signed in 2012, and construction began two years later. However, the world only learned about it in 2018 when Putin announced six new nuclear weapons programs in his annual address to the nation.
Khabarovsk was scheduled to be launched in June 2020, and while there's no official reason for the delay, reports suggest work was halted due to COVID, Ukraine, and technical difficulties.

We don't know much about this nuclear submarine, but it's 370 feet long and has an operating depth of up to 3,300 feet. It's estimated to cost over £1 billion.
According to experts, this submarine will have a crew of 100, a technically unlimited firing range, and, using stealth technology, it will be able to remain underwater for months without surfacing.
