Tributes have been paid to a Charlton Athletic supporter who collapsed during Saturday's match against Portsmouth at The Valley.
Norman Barker, 68, who had been watching the game since 1968, fell ill in the 12th minute of the game, received medical treatment in the lower tier of the North Stand and was then taken to hospital, where he later died.

Affectionately known as "Headphone Norm," he was awarded the Supporter of the Year award by first-team manager Nathan Jones in July.

In a tribute posted online, the club said it was "deeply saddened by the loss of one of its most loyal and familiar faces" and hoped to celebrate Mr. Barker's life before Tuesday's game against Middlesbrough. The club added: "Norman will be greatly missed by everyone at Charlton Athletic and everyone at the club sends their deepest condolences to his family and friends at this very difficult time.

"A true icon for Addicks fans, Norman was affectionately known as Headphone Norm due to his distinctive look, which included a set of headphones around his neck or around his neck to listen to the latest results, a vest adorned with numerous Charlton and football-related badges and patches, and impressive headwear such as his favourite Davy Crockett hat, which of course, proudly bore the logo of his beloved club."

Dave Lockwood, stadium announcer at The Valley, said the Woolwich fan "exemplified the ethos of being a true Charlton fan" and "was a recognisable constant throughout the years I supported our club."

He said: "We all knew him, all of us, which is why it's so sad."
"If there's any consolation, he was among his friends in a place he loved.
"The world is truly a worse place without Norm. RIP."
Club staff held a service in Mr. Barker's memory on Monday morning behind the covered end of the valley.
