Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo broke records with a stellar performance against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, March 10.
 
Adebayo had 79 points and counting against the Wizards, after scoring 43 points in the first half, 19 points in the third quarter, and 17 points in the fourth quarter. His record-setting night began with a brilliant first quarter performance, in which he scored 31 points.
 
Only two players in NBA history scored more points than Adebayo on Tuesday night: Kobe Bryant (81) and Wilt Chamberlain in his record 100-point game.
The Heat are sweeping the Wizards.

Adebayo dismantled the Washington defense in the opening quarter, scoring a team-record 31 points, the most points scored in a first quarter in Heat history.
 Adebayo played the entire first quarter. He made 10 of 16 shots from the field, including 5 of 8 from long range. He also reached the line and made 6 of 8 free throws.
 
Adebayo scored 43 points in the first half on 13 of 24 shooting, 5 of 11 from three, and 12 of 14 free throws. He also had five rebounds, two steals, and a block.
Miami led the Wizards 76-62 at halftime.
 
Named among Miami's greatest players
 The three-time All-Star surpassed LeBron James' team record of 25 points in a quarter against the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) in 2014. James scored a career-high 61 points in that game, a Heat franchise record.
 After James, Kyle Lowry and Tyler Johnson tied for the second-most points in a quarter for the Heat with 22 points each.
 
Bam Adebayo's Age and Stats
So far during the 2025-26 regular season, Adebayo has averaged 18.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.
 
Adebayo is 28 years old. In July 2024, he signed a three-year, $161.35 million maximum contract extension with Miami, which includes a player option for the 2028-29 season.
 
He was selected by the Heat out of Kentucky with the 14th overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft.
