Captain Doris will start for Ireland against Japan

Ireland captain Keelan Doris has been included in the starting 15 for Saturday's autumn international against Japan in Dublin.

 Leinster's back-row forward has just returned from injury during last week's 26-13 defeat to New Zealand, but is considered fit to start after head coach Andy Farrell made changes following the Chicago tour.

 Joining him in the back row are Ryan Baird as blindside flanker and Ulster's Nick Timoney at openside.

 Tagh Beirne, who received an initial red card after a bunker review against the All Blacks but was later withdrawn, has returned to the second row alongside James Ryan.

 However, Ulster's Stuart McCloskey, who suffered a groin injury in Ireland's opening autumn match, is not part of the matchday squad, while Munster's Tom Farrell has been selected for his Test debut alongside Robbie Henshaw.

 Jacob Stockdale will win his 40th cap, returning to the wing for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury in the summer Test against Georgia.

 Craig Casey has been given the nod to play at half-back alongside his Munster teammate Jack Crowley, while Ronan Kelleher and Thomas Clarkson form the forward line alongside Andrew Porter, who retained his place after the defeat to New Zealand.

 Farrell has strong options on the bench, with Gus McCarthy, Paddy McCarthy, Finlay Bealham, Cian Prendergast, and Jack Conan as forward replacements, while Caoilinn Blades, Sam Prendergast, and Jimmy O'Brien bolster the backline.
