The former Finals MVP has gone viral for leaving streaks of spray-on hair color, or "hair black," on his defenders. First, it happened to the New York Knicks' OG Anunoby, then to the Detroit Pistons' Ron Holland, and most recently, against the Washington Wizards' Kyshawn George.
This unusual situation with Brown's hair has become a topic of discussion in NBA circles, with even Matt Barnes calling out the Celtics star for it. On the other hand, ESPN host Christine Williamson is urging Brown to "embrace the baldness."
"As a bald person, I think everyone should embrace their baldness," Williamson said on an episode of ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption." Williamson herself proudly sports a clean-shaven head. "I don't understand why men don't embrace the fact that they're going bald. They should just let it go."
Williamson continued, "I believe Jaylen Brown will probably shave his head. Bald is beautiful. Just do it. Shave it all off. It doesn't matter."
For his part, Brown offered a humorous response to the situation.
Reposting a Bleacher Report tweet, Brown said on X, "AI is getting out of hand."
Unfortunately for Brown and the Celtics, this spray-on hair has been the most talked-about aspect of their season so far. The 2024 NBA Champions have had a rough start to the season, currently sitting at 4-5. The C's are still without superstar Jayson Tatum. They are also still reeling from the losses of key veteran players Al Horford, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis. Even Rapper Rick Ross Weighed In
Everyone is giving their opinion on Brown's spray-on hairline, and even rapper Rick Ross is sharing his thoughts on the matter.
In a video posted on social media, Ross said, "This is for Jalen Brown, it's time to stop this madness. Whoever your barber is, just stop it," he said while getting his own haircut. "Chill with the hair follicles, he's spraying on some other man's hair up there, but you're playing ball, my ni**a, this is causing trauma. It's time to stop this madness."
It's hard not to find the whole situation amusing, especially since it also made headlines when Brown sought advice from LeBron James about the whole hair thinning situation. It also reminded people of a similar situation involving former Jazz and Bulls big man Carlos Boozer.
Unfortunately, this seems to be a recurring problem throughout Brown's career.

A "Stain" on Brown
JB will go down in history as one of the best players of his generation. While his accolades on the court will certainly define his legacy, it's other things like the spray-on hair that will likely leave a lasting impression on fans and social media.
It could also be considered another "stain" on his already difficult reputation, albeit a humorous one. Whether it's his inability to dribble with his left hand, his allegedly undeserved super-max contract, or his views on politics and off-court matters, Brown will always be someone who is unfairly criticized far too much, especially considering how good and talented he is on the court. Hopefully, JB will embrace his baldness and shave his head so that he, and the NBA social media world, can move on from this spray-on debacle.
