The Ravens have hired a new OC who is the same age as Lamar Jackson, a story first reported by ClutchPoints. Click here to add ClutchPoints as a preferred source.
After hiring head coach Jesse Minter, the Baltimore Ravens have finalized a new offensive coordinator to call plays for Lamar Jackson next season. However, this is an interesting hire, as the new OC is the same age as the team's star quarterback.
According to reports, and confirmed by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens are hiring Declan Doyle, who was the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator last season. Doyle will call plays in Baltimore, something he wasn't doing for the Bears. This means it's considered a promotion for Doyle, which is why he left his previous job to take this one.
“The Baltimore Ravens are hiring Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle as their offensive coordinator. Doyle is leaving because he will have play-calling responsibilities in Baltimore. But new Ravens HC Jesse Minter now has his guy to run Baltimore’s offense.”
Schefter also claims that both Doyle and Jackson are 29 years old. Doyle is now the youngest offensive coordinator in the NFL. This will be the first time in his career that he will be calling plays.

Doyle has climbed the career ladder quite quickly. After working as a student assistant for three seasons with the Iowa Hawkeyes, he landed his first NFL coaching role as an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints in 2019. Declan Doyle held the tight ends coaching position with the New Orleans Saints for several seasons before accepting the same job with the Denver Broncos in 2023.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson brought Doyle in as his offensive coordinator for the 2025-26 season. While Doyle didn't call the plays, he played a key role in helping Johnson develop the offensive game plan each week. After a successful first year in Chicago, Declan Doyle is now the Ravens' offensive coordinator and play-caller under head coach Jesse Minter.
