The Italian Tennis Federation (FITP) and the ATP announced on Tuesday that two spectators died of heart attacks on the second day of the ATP Finals at the Pala Alpitour in Turin.
Both men were 70 and 78 years old, and the incidents occurred at different times on Monday. The first singles match between Italy's Lorenzo Musetti and Taylor Fritz started late after a medical emergency was announced in the arena.
A joint statement read: "The Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP) and the ATP express their deepest condolences on the tragic deaths of two spectators yesterday during the ATP Finals in Turin."
"Medical and emergency staff on site responded immediately and provided all possible assistance. Despite immediate intervention and subsequent transport to the hospital, unfortunately, both men tragically passed away."

On Monday, a large crowd was present at the arena to cheer on Italian players Lorenzo Musetti and defending champion Jannik Sinner, who later defeated Canada's Félix Auger-Aliassime.
