Several former Oval Office occupants are expected to attend former Vice President Dick Cheney's funeral on November 20.
 
Notably, President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance will not attend Cheney's funeral, which will begin at 11 a.m. ET at the Washington National Cathedral.
 
Cheney, the second-in-command under former President George W. Bush, died on November 4 at the age of 84 after suffering from pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.

  • Former President Joe Biden will attend the funeral, a spokesperson confirmed.
  •  Former President George W. Bush is expected to speak during the service.

  • The White House has confirmed that Trump will not attend the funeral.
  • Former President Barack Obama is not expected to attend.
 
  • He also did not attend the funeral of former Vice President Walter Mondale in 2021.
 
  • On Cheney's death, Obama acknowledged that they "represented very different political traditions" but said he "respected (Cheney's) lifelong dedication to public service and his deep love for our country."
 
  • Former President Bill Clinton will not attend, due to what a spokesperson described as a necessary scheduling conflict. The spokesperson said Clinton is praying for the Cheney family.

  • A source familiar with the matter said Vance was not invited to Dick Cheney's funeral.
  • The Vice President told Breitbart reporter Matthew Boyle on November 19 that he was sending his condolences to the Cheney family.
Vance said, "My condolences go out to Dick Cheney and his family. Obviously, there are some political differences, but he was a man who served his country. We certainly send our best wishes to his family during this time of grief."
