60-year-old man dies in suspected hit-and-run case
A 60-year-old man died from his injuries in Dungiven, County Londonderry, early Sunday morning.
Police are investigating how he died, but believe he may have been involved in a hit-and-run incident.
Police received a report of an injured man on Foreglen Road at 01:35 GMT.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but died.
Sinn Féin councillor Kathleen McGurk called the man's death a tragedy and appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
"We believe he's not actually from the Dungiven area, but he was in the Dungiven area that evening," she told
"I believe many people in the community knew him, and yes, I think people are shocked by this incident."
Police are seeking any information, witnesses, and dash-cam footage.
