FBI is examining hours of surveillance footage to unravel the mystery behind the death of 18-year-old Anna Kepner. Anna's body was found under her bed on the Carnival Horizon cruise ship on Friday, November 7.
According to The Sun, the night before her death, Anna complained of feeling unwell during dinner with her family – which included her father, Chris, her 14-year-old brother, her father's partner, Shontel Hudson, and her 16-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter – and returned to a cabin she shared with two boys.
The outlet reported on Thursday, November 20, that her brother and stepbrother chased her, but only her brother changed his clothes and left the cabin again.
A law enforcement source reported in a story published on Wednesday, November 19, that surveillance video has surfaced of a high school senior from Titusville, Florida, with her stepbrother – who is named in other court documents as a "suspect."
The source told the outlet that authorities are examining hours of video and also have access to room key swipes.
Anna Kepner's step-grandfather, Christopher Donohue – whose daughter is Chris's second wife – said, "I don't know why Anna was sharing a room with her stepbrother."
He added, "The FBI kept us in the dark, never contacted us. Kepner never told us anything. We learned from a Facebook post that the stepson was a suspect." He added, "All I know is that she went on that boat and never came back. Everyone is grieving. There are questions. I don't think we'll ever know." “We are living in a nightmare.”
