The pregnant teenager, who pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in Georgia, said she felt "happy and relieved" to be released from prison.

Bella, 19, from Billingham in Teesside, initially faced up to 20 years in prison, but prosecutors made a last-minute change to the terms of the plea bargain.

Miss Cooley, who walked out of the Tbilisi court hand-in-hand with her mother, Lian Kennedy, told reporters she hadn't expected to be released today.

The teenager was arrested at Tbilisi International Airport on May 10 after 12kg (26lb) of marijuana and 2kg (4.4lb) of hashish were found in her luggage.
Her lawyer, Malkhaz Salakaia, said prosecutors amended the plea deal and decided to release her considering her age and pregnancy.

Miss Cooley's family is trying to retrieve her passport from the police so she can leave the country as soon as possible.
