The body of 28-year-old Mr. Webb was found at a house on New Harbour Road on Monday.

Emergency services arrived at the scene, but he was later pronounced dead.

Kai Johnston, 21, of Springfield Gardens, Portavogie, appeared at Newtownards Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

He is charged with murder and other offenses, including possession of an offensive weapon, such as a knife, with intent to commit a criminal offense and possession of a Class C drug on November 3.

Mr. Johnson is also charged with assault on November 2.

The accused stood in the dock and answered "yes" when asked if he understood the charges against him.

A senior Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) officer told the court that he could connect Mr. Johnson to the charges.

Detective Sergeant White said that witness evidence, telephone evidence, forensic evidence, and a full confession made during the interview were present.

The families of both Jordan Webb and the accused, Kai Johnson, were present in court on Thursday.

Before the proceedings began, Judge Rice said that this was "a very serious case" involving a murder charge and the "tragic loss of a young man."

He also urged everyone in the courtroom to "behave with courtesy" and respect the court.

No bail application was made and the accused was remanded in custody to reappear via video link on December 3.
