British airline Jet2 said it has banned two passengers for life after a fight broke out on a flight to Manchester, England, on Thursday, forcing the flight to be diverted.
According to the airline, the flight was arriving from Antalya, Turkey, when a mid-air fight broke out.
The cause of the altercation was not immediately clear on Saturday.
The airline said the flight was diverted to Brussels, the capital of Belgium, due to the disturbance.
Jet2, the budget-friendly airline behind last year's viral "Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday" jingle, called the two passengers' behavior "very bad."
"They were both removed by police in Brussels, and the flight continued on to Manchester," the airline said in a statement. "We can confirm that both unruly passengers will be banned from flying with us for life, and we will deal with them sternly to compensate for any losses incurred as a result of this diversion."
Videos showing the altercation are circulating online. In one video, two men begin to attack each other, when other passengers intervene. Several people can be heard asking the men to stop.
The airline said, "As a family-friendly airline, we have a zero-tolerance approach to passenger misbehavior, and we deeply regret that other customers and our employees had to experience this."
