Local authorities said investigators found DNA at the home of Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of US news anchor Savannah Guthrie, that neither belongs to her nor to anyone close to her.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said they are trying to determine whose DNA it is, but did not disclose where it was found.

Investigators also found several gloves, the closest of which was found about two miles from Nancy Guthrie's home.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona, about two weeks ago in the middle of the night. Authorities believe she was taken against her will.

The Sheriff's Department stated that reports of gloves being found inside her home or on her property are false.

They added that all evidence collected has been sent for lab analysis.

On Thursday, the FBI released a physical description of the suspect, describing him as a man between 5ft 9in and 5ft 10in (175-177cm) tall and with an average build.

It said investigators were able to determine identifying details about the suspect after analyzing footage from a doorbell camera installed outside Guthrie's home.

The FBI said the suspect was wearing a 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack in the footage.
After the doorbell footage was released, investigators received more than 13,000 tips, including 4,000 within 24 hours.

The FBI has also increased the reward for information about Guthrie's disappearance from $50,000 (£36,700) to $100,000.

The County Sheriff's Department stated that the suspect's description "remains the primary focus," adding: "However, investigators are not ruling out any individuals or possibilities."

Investigators have also issued a public appeal for video footage from Guthrie's neighbors.
Police have said that 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie requires daily medication and is unable to walk.
Savannah Guthrie and her two siblings have made several appeals to their mother's kidnapper on social media.

They believe she is still alive and have said they are willing to pay for her safe return.
