This year, the festival took a break for Radio 1's Big Weekend in May. The star-studded event has featured everyone from local legend Jamie Webster to the revered Cream Classical and its 50-member Kaleidoscope Orchestra.
To celebrate his highly anticipated return next summer, global superstar Lewis Capaldi has been announced as the first headliner, performing his largest outdoor headline show in the city. The announcement comes after his sold-out 17-date arena tour across the UK and Ireland, his first in two years.
Fans were treated to a packed setlist and new music following his sixth No. 1 single, with "Survive" becoming the fastest-selling single of the year so far.
