In 2000, at just seven years old, Taylor Momsen played Cindy Lou Who opposite Jim Carrey's green Grinch in the classic holiday film "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

But fans likely won't see this cast reunite for a sequel anytime soon, as the 32-year-old actress exclusively told The Post that nothing is currently in the works.

Taylor Momsen attended the 7th Annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party at the Hollywood Palladium on February 1, 2026.

“I don’t know anything about it,” she said while attending Steven Tyler’s 7th annual Jam for Janie Grammys watch party on Sunday.

“Some things just stay the same. Timeless classic. It’s lasted this long,” Momsen added.

However, in November, the artist hinted at a possible second project.

“When Jim Carrey asks you to do something, you pay attention, so we’ll see,” Momsen told Entertainment Tonight.

The two co-stars had reunited at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the time.
“It’s so weird,” she recalled to the outlet, noting that she hadn’t seen Carrey, 64, in 25 years. “The whole thing is so bizarre. When Matt Cameron told me this, my head spun. The odds of this are one in a billion. The whole thing is strange.”

Momsen and her band, The Pretty Reckless, rerecorded the song “Where Are You Christmas?” in December in honor of the film’s 25th anniversary.

Momsen originally sang the song in the original project.

“‘Pretty Reckless Christmas’ started as just a song, but the moment we went into the studio, it took on a life of its own,” she said in a statement at the time. "There was so much emotion, so many memories, and so much turmoil involved that it didn't feel right to leave it alone. To truly honor it, I needed to build an entire world around it. That's how this project became a complete work—something far bigger, deeper, and more personal than I ever imagined."

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in November, Momsen elaborated on the song. "When I was a kid, and I found out that Cindy was going to be singing in the movie, I don't think I've ever been so excited. I loved the song, and I had just started writing songs around that time. I didn't realize how much going to the studio would impact my life," she explained. "It was my first studio training, where a producer was teaching me the tricks of the trade. That's where I fell in love with recording studios, and even today, the recording studio is my favorite place in the world."

"It was a real sled that was on a big spring that was being controlled and it was moving around really fast," she told Vulture. "Jim was leaning over and doing his thing. There was a moment where I almost fell off the sled, and he freaked out. He called cut and started checking on me."

Meanwhile, Momsen wasn't as "freaked out" as the actor was.

"I was having so much fun," she said. "I was laughing; I wasn't thinking about the fact that I had just almost fallen from a great height."

Momsen also recalled that the comedian was "very protective" of her on set.

"That's what I remember," she said. "Jim was so incredibly caring towards me on set, as a person, as a child. He always looked out for me, always checked on me, made sure I was okay, because he was so energetic, so over the top."

"I always felt very safe with Jim," she said. "I loved being around him."

Carrey also spoke about reprising his role in 2024. "Everywhere I go, it's 'Are you going to do 'The Grinch'?' 'Are you going to do 'The Grinch'?' It drives me crazy," he joked to Extra. "I've got to find a way to stop the sequel from happening!"
