2026 Bentley Continental Supersports unveiled

The first Bentley Supersports was built in 1925, when the company created a car that surpassed 100 mph (160 km/h) and helped define the concept of a fast, long-distance cruiser. One hundred years later, Bentley is recreating that spirit with even greater intention. The 2026 Supersports is lighter, more responsive, and designed with the bond between driver and machine in mind.

At the heart of the car is a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that lacks the hybrid technology of the new standard Continental. In the Supersports, it produces 657 bhp and 800 Nm of torque, down from 771 bhp and 1000 Nm, but unlike the standard Continental, this car sends all its power to the rear wheels only. This gives the Supersports the feel of a traditional sports car, making the driving experience even more direct. The eight-speed DCT gearbox shifts smoothly when cruising, but thanks to the different drive modes, it becomes even faster and more precise when the driver demands speed. Thanks to its power and low weight, the Supersports can accelerate to 100 km/h in approximately 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 310 km/h. The Supersports is fitted with 22-inch forged tires, designed in collaboration with Manthey Racing, and features the largest automotive braking system on the market – 440 mm and 410 mm carbon ceramic discs with 10- and 4-piston calipers at the front and rear, respectively. Pirelli P-Zero tires are standard fit, but buyers can opt for Trofeo RS rubber, which increases cornering speed by 30 percent compared to the GT Speed.

The Supersports' hallmark is its low weight. Bentley has replaced many heavy materials with lightweight materials, including a carbon-fiber roof that lowers the car's center of gravity. Even the rear seats have been removed—replaced by a beautifully carved panel—to reduce weight and give the cabin a more focused feel. The result is that the car is over 500 kilograms lighter than the standard Continental.

The exterior design reflects this new objective. The front of the car features vents that help direct air to key areas, while the sides and rear feature sharper shapes to smoothly control airflow. A fixed rear wing provides stability at speed and complements the car's sharp, confident stance. It provides 300 kilograms of downforce. The Supersports is similar to a Bentley, but with more attitude.

Inside, the cabin is completely built around the driver. It has only two seats, with carbon fiber elements replacing the rear seats, contributing to a 500-kilogram weight reduction. The materials blend comfort and simplicity—smooth leather, soft technical fabrics, and fine stitching, reflecting Bentley's renowned craftsmanship. The space where the rear seats would normally be is now a clean, sculpted surface, giving the interior a purposeful, uncluttered feel.

Bentley will build only 500 examples of the Supersports. Each car will be numbered, and owners can personalize the paint color, interior finish, and material combination. Deliveries will begin in early 2027. Although Bentley is moving toward a future of electrification and new technologies, the Supersports demonstrates that the brand still deeply values the emotional aspect of driving. It's not only the most attractive Bentley ever built—it's a reminder of what makes driving special in the first place.
