Following a fatal accident Saturday morning, oncoming lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway were closed for several hours.
According to Illinois State Police, the accident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday near Kostner Avenue.
Several people were killed in the crash, but state police did not immediately have information on how many were killed or injured.
Traffic was diverted off the highway in Cicero while the crash scene was cleaned and police investigated the collision. These lanes reopened at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
