Following the closure of Blue Islands, Aurigny is resuming flights from Guernsey to Jersey and Southampton.

Aurigny Updates Schedule After Airline Collapse

Aurgny has released a schedule for services from Guernsey to Jersey and Southampton, previously operated by Blue Islands. This service will run until December 17.

Guernsey's state-owned airline said it will operate two flights daily on the Guernsey to Jersey route, except Fridays and Sundays, as well as two or three flights daily from Guernsey to Southampton.

Aurgny's Chief Executive Officer, Nico Bezuidenhout, said the airline plans to add more flights on these routes during Christmas and the remainder of the winter season, with further schedules to be announced "in the coming days."

Following the closure of Blue Islands, which led to the cancellation of all its flights, Aurigny and partner airline Loganair announced that they would launch rescue flights to help displaced passengers.

Aurgny said that flights until Friday would be available at reduced one-way fares to help stranded passengers reach home.

Mr. Bezuidenhout said the airline wants to restore the "essential air bridge" between Guernsey and Jersey.

He added that the route to Southampton is also a vital service for passengers.

Mr. Bezuidenhout said, "Aurgny has taken immediate action to launch new services from Guernsey to Southampton and Jersey to meet a real market need and prevent any further disruption."

On Saturday, Mr. Bezuidenhout said that Aurigny wants to provide an inter-island service in the long term.

"I think the route between Guernsey and Jersey has been an important route for Aurigny for a long time," he said.

"I don't think there's really any airline that has served that route for longer than Aurigny, so we'll be returning to that route and providing that connectivity for the islanders."
