The rapper quickly realized her mistake when the crowd erupted in laughter during her surprise appearance at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest.

Nicki Minaj made an awkward mistake while appearing as a surprise guest in a Q&A session with Erica Kirk at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in Arizona on Sunday.

The awkward moment occurred when Kirk asked Minaj (who has been increasingly supportive of the Trump administration online in recent months) to share a message with the young boys in the audience.

In response, the "Everybody" musician took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom (D), warning young boys not to be like "Newscum," President Donald Trump's derogatory nickname for the governor.

"Young boys, you have great role models like our handsome dashing president. And you have great role models like the murderous J.D. Vance, our vice president," Minaj said.

Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj, quickly realized she had made a grave mistake by saying the word "murderer" in front of Erica Kirk, the wife of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Erica Kirk became the chairperson and CEO of Turning Point USA after her husband's murder in September.

Reflecting on her mistake, Minaj paused and bowed her head, then covered her mouth with her hand as some in the crowd laughed.

Kirk didn't seem bothered by Minaj's words, smiling and telling her, "Trust me, there's nothing new in the world I haven't heard. So you're fine."

Consoling Minaj for her mistake, Kirk told her, "I love you," and then told the crowd, "You have to laugh it off. Honestly, I've been called all kinds of things, and you know, God is so good, you ignore it."

He said of Minaj, "If the internet wants to clip [this moment], who cares? I love this woman. She's an amazing woman... Words are words, but I know her heart. It doesn't matter."

Elsewhere in the interview, Minaj hurled further insults at Newsom amid her ongoing feud with the politician. She read some of her scathing tweets about him, including one criticizing the governor's stance on trans children. The 12-time Grammy nominee then delivered a message directly to Newsom from the stage.

She said, "Dear Newscome, we have no problem cleaning up the mess if necessary. Please proceed with caution. I'll tell you the same thing to Gavvy-Poo."

Minaj also praised the Trump administration, telling Kirk that she has "enormous respect and admiration for our president."

She said of Trump, "He has given so many people hope that there's a chance to defeat the bad guys and win, and that can all be done by holding our heads high and maintaining our integrity."

She also claimed that the Trump administration is "filled with people with heart and soul."

Minaj received an invitation to Turning Point USA when it appears she has aligned herself with the Trump administration. Last month, the songwriter praised Trump in a post about the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Her post follows Trump's October 31st post on TruthSocial, in which he described the "mass genocide" in Nigeria as an "existential threat."

Minaj later appealed for an end to the persecution of Christians in Nigeria at a United Nations event on November 18th.
