Timeline Released in Brianna Aguilera’s Death
Austin Police Department officials released a timeline Thursday of the final hours of Brianna Marie Aguilera before her tragic death last week, revealing details from the investigation into what they are ruling as a death by suicide.
Investigators also pushed back on speculation around Aguilera's death, saying no evidence at any point of the investigation indicated the incident was criminal in nature. Stephanie Rodriguez, Aguilera's mother, rejected APD's claims on Facebook, calling the investigation into her daughter's death "lazy."
APD found Aguilera's body early Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Rio apartment building in Austin, where the 19-year-old Texas A&M sophomore was in town for tailgating ahead of the Texas A&M-Texas football game.
APD's timeline of Brianna Aguilera's final hours:
Friday, Nov. 28

4-5 p.m.: Aguilera attends the tailgate at the Austin Rugby Club, arriving around 4 or 5 p.m.

10 p.m.: Aguilera leaves the tailgate. Witnesses told APD she repeatedly dropped her phone and staggered into a nearby wooded area, later discovered to be where her phone was found.

Just after 11 p.m.: Aguilera arrives at the apartment complex and went to an apartment unit on the 17th floor.
Saturday, Nov. 29

12:30 a.m.: A large group of friends leaves the apartment, leaving only Aguilera and three other girls in the apartment.

12:43-12:44 a.m.: Aguilera calls her out-of-town boyfriend. Witnesses reported to APD that they heard Aguilera arguing on the phone with her boyfriend. Notably, the phone call was made two minutes before the 911 call about Aguilera's body.

12:46 a.m.: APD officers respond to a call of a deceased person located at 2101 Rio Grande Street-the address of the Rio apartment building in Austin.

12:56 a.m:.Aguilera is pronounced deceased. Homicide Detective Robert Marshall and crime scene specialists respond to process the scene and interview witnesses.

12:14 p.m.: The friends from the apartment that Aguilera had been observed going into before her death place a 911 call to report Aguilera missing.

12:50 p.m.: Rodriguez calls APD in an attempt to locate Aguilera.

12:54 p.m.: Marshall and other patrol officers make contact with the residents of the specific apartment Aguilera had been observed going into before her death, and the residents inform Marshall they were trying to report that Aguilera was missing.

2:00 p.m.: Rodriguez calls APD back, reporting the location of her daughter's missing phone.

3:30 p.m.: The phone is located by APD officers in a wooded area near Walnut Creek, in a field by the Austin Rugby Club.

Just before 5 p.m.:.Rodriguez is notified of Aguilera's death. Aguilera's phone and belongings are left on the 17th floor of the apartment for the family to receive.
Monday, Dec. 1:
