5-year-old boy dies after golf center wall collapses

Emergency services were called to Sidcup Family Golf in Chislehurst at 5:40 p.m. (IST) on Sunday after reports that a child had been injured by a falling wall.

The boy was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, as was a six-year-old girl. He later died in hospital, while the girl has been discharged.

A spokesperson for Sidcup Family Golf said: "We are deeply saddened to hear that the child injured on Sunday has tragically passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the child's family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time."

They added: "We are co-operating fully with the authorities as they continue their investigation and are providing every possible support to those affected by this tragedy."

The Met Police said investigations are ongoing and officers are working closely with the local health and safety inspectorate.
