Kia previews next-generation Telluride SUV as a 'new benchmark' for the brand

Kia on Monday previewed its next-generation Telluride SUV, which the company is calling "a new standard for the brand's design and ambition."

Since its launch in 2019, the Telluride has been a phenomenal success for the South Korean car brand and has at times been one of the most sought-after vehicles in the US.

Kia said the 2027 Telluride, expected to arrive in US showrooms during the first quarter, features a larger, boxier, and more modern design than the current model.

Since its launch in 2019, the first-generation Telluride has been a phenomenal success for the South Korean car brand and has at times been one of the most sought-after vehicles in the US, based on inventory levels. It is a key vehicle for the company in the US.

Kia said the 2027 Telluride, which is expected to arrive in U.S. showrooms during the first quarter, features a larger, boxier, and more modern design overall than the current model.

The new front end features a larger front grille flanked by vertical headlamps, while the rear of the vehicle features a sleeker design and silhouette reminiscent of the Range Rover.

The company released photos of the Telluride X-Pro model on Monday ahead of the three-row midsize SUV's official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, where more trims and details of the vehicle will be revealed.

According to the company, Telluride sales have increased annually since its launch in 2019, with Kia selling over 444,000 units in total. According to Kia, vehicle sales have increased 11% year-over-year through October.

Kia currently offers the Telluride in 10 trim levels, with starting prices ranging from $36,000 to $54,000.

A new version of the Hyundai Palisade, a sister vehicle to the Kia Telluride, was released earlier this year and starts at $39,000 to $55,000, depending on trim.
