Local officials have reported that at least four people, including three young children, were killed in an overnight Russian airstrike in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region.
 
Regional head Oleh Sinegubov said two two-year-old boys, a one-year-old girl, and a 34-year-old man were killed when a drone struck their home in the city of Bohodukhiv.
 
Sinegubov said a 35-year-old pregnant woman and another 73-year-old woman were injured in the attack on the city.
 
This Russian airstrike comes as Moscow resumes its offensive after a week-long break, which Donald Trump asked Vladimir Putin to oversee due to the severe cold in Ukraine.

Bohodukhiv, located northwest of Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, has been hit by almost daily Russian attacks in recent days.
 
Sinegubov said that a 41-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy were killed in the city on Monday.
 
Donetsk regional head Vadim Filyashkin said on Telegram that Russian forces also dropped seven bombs on the city of Slovyansk on Tuesday, killing three people, including an 11-year-old girl.
 
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Moscow has increased pressure on the region by targeting transport and energy infrastructure with a record number of ballistic missiles.
 
Local authorities have declared an emergency in the Kharkiv region due to the energy situation.

This comes after a so-called "energy truce" ended last week, which was intended to provide relief to Ukraine's energy sector during temperatures of -20C (-4F).
 
Thousands of people in Ukraine are facing severe power outages, and many homes have neither water nor heating.
 
Zelensky has said the US wants the war with Russia to end by June, and both sides have been invited to the US for talks next week. Meanwhile, reports emerged of a major Ukrainian drone attack on Volzhsky, in the Russian Volgograd region, on Wednesday night.
 
The governor of the region, Andrei Bocharov, said the attack damaged an apartment and set a factory on fire.
 Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine in February 2022.
