WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald J. Trump announced a major international milestone, revealing that member states have pledged more than $5 billion toward humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts in Gaza under the newly formed Board of Peace

According to President Trump, the initiative builds on a comprehensive peace framework he introduced last October, a plan that was unanimously adopted by the United Nations Security Council. The framework aimed to permanently end the Gaza conflict while accelerating humanitarian relief and securing the release of all hostages—both living and deceased.

The Board of Peace was officially launched last month during a global gathering in Davos, where two dozen founding members outlined a long-term vision focused on civilian protection, regional stability, and broader global peace objectives extending beyond Gaza.

President Trump confirmed that on February 19, 2026, Board members will reconvene at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C.. During the event, officials will formally announce financial commitments, along with the deployment of thousands of personnel to an International Stabilization Force and local policing units designed to maintain security for Gazan civilians.

A central condition of the initiative, Trump emphasized, is the full and immediate demilitarization of Hamas, which he described as essential for lasting peace and reconstruction.

Calling the Board of Peace “the most consequential international body in history,” President Trump said he was honored to serve as its chairman and expressed confidence that the initiative could redefine global conflict resolution.

“This is not just about Gaza,” Trump said. “This is about building a model for peace that can be applied around the world.”
